Letter from Our President 2019-2020

AUGUST 1, 2019

Welcome to a new board year for AMA Hawaii. We’d like to begin by thanking all of our past and present members, partners, sponsors, and leaders for their support. Mahalo for being a part of our chapter’s growth and believing in our mission and vision, to be the center of marketing in Hawaii. I would also like to extend my personal thanks to all of the individuals who have chosen to continue on the board and also welcome the new members who have joined our leadership team. Our board members continue to inspire me as they generously contribute their talent, energy, and time to the development and improvement of our chapter.

As a result of the combined efforts of this group, we are excited to introduce several new initiatives this year, such as this monthly newsletter with trending topics, upcoming events, job opportunities, member benefits, and shout-outs to the accomplishments of our members. We are also working on launching an affinity member benefits & discounts program in 2020. These local benefits will be in addition to those received through our national AMA affiliation.

Founded in 1970, AMA Hawaii has been serving the local marketing community for nearly 50 years. We want to be the organization that not only connects our marketing community, but also serves as a resource and a catalyst to move our industry forward.

In that effort, we are offering increased networking events and will continue to provide educational programming, including our annual Pacific Marketing Conference. To the attendees, speakers, and sponsors of the inaugural Pacific Marketing Conference this past May, we cannot express our appreciation enough for making the first year such an overwhelming success. Also, thank you to immediate past-president Casie Bui for your vision and leadership to bring this to life. Our planning committee is already in full effect for #PMC 2020 and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.

Be sure to check out our pages on your preferred social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn – for the latest information about our events, conference, and other chapter news.

Thank you again to each and every one of you for your continued support of AMA Hawaii. I am humbled by the opportunity to be your chapter president and look forward to an AMAzing year ahead.

With gratitude,
Chelsea Tsuchida, President
American Marketing Association Hawaii
