COVID-19 Statement

MARCH 16, 2020

Aloha,

With the recent developments related to COVID-19, AMA Hawaii believes it is our collective responsibility to act proactively and practice social distancing. The health and safety of our valued members, event attendees, industry professionals, and community supporters are our top priority.

According to official recommendations from the CDC, events and gatherings of 50+ people are advised to hold off for the next 8 weeks, at a minimum.

Given the current situation with the Coronavirus in Hawaii and around the world, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming Spring Forward Networking Mixer, originally scheduled for March 25, at The Nighthawk. The event will be rescheduled at a later date.

In the meantime, we are also exploring options for a virtual event or webinar in an effort to stand strong in our commitment to the marketing community and our local community as a whole.

At this time, we do not anticipate disruptions to this year’s Pacific Marketing Conference, to be held on Thursday, May 14, at Prince Waikiki, but we will continue to closely monitor the situation, consult with health officials, and notify participants should circumstances change. If we do decide to postpone or cancel this year’s conference, please be assured that you will receive a refund for any tickets purchased.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this uncertain time. To stay current on all COVID-19 related news, visit the Hawaii Department of Health website or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Our hearts and well wishes go out to everyone directly and indirectly affected by COVID-19. Please stay safe, keep informed, and practice aloha.
