Data Privacy & Compliance: Lunch & Learn

NOVEMBER 1, 2019

While the collection and application of user data is not a new practice, the management and protection of collected data has become increasingly more complex. Security breaches and even targeted advertising has cast a spotlight on data collection and practices, creating awareness and initiating a dialogue for greater clarity and control for users and their privacy.

At this lunch and learn event, Elijah Yip of Luminate Law speaks to the requirements and best practices for compliance on personal privacy and data privacy laws such as California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), a law that concerns the data privacy of California residents and goes into effect starting January 1, 2020, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which concerns data privacy of European Union residents and is already in effect.

Join AMA Hawaii as we learn more about the requirements of these laws, such as who they apply to, how these laws compare to one another, and general tips, guidelines, and best practices for businesses and marketers to consider.
