TAMMY ANDREA CHANG
Project Director
Ward Research
As a project director at Ward Research, AMA Hawaii member Tammy Chang
consults with clients each day regarding their market research and
information needs, creating and managing research projects. Her goal is
to help clients understand their customers by providing marketing
strategy recommendations based on research on issues involving
advertising, messaging, product/service development, customer
satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
“I’ve been a member of AMA since I started a career in marketing in
1998 to stay in touch with industry trends and best practices,” Chang
said, “and to learn from some of the brightest marketers in the
country.”
At AMA Hawaii, she served as the Programming chair last year and is
continuing on the Board of Directors this year as the Membership chair.
Chang is also exploring volunteer opportunities with the Surfrider
Foundation and other environmental groups.
Currently a resident of Honolulu, Chang was born in Royal Oak,
Michigan, and was raised in Rochester Hills, a northern suburb of
Detroit. After earning a BA in psychology from Oakland University and
an MBA in marketing from Wayne State University in 2000, she worked as
a research director in the FS&I (financial services and insurance)
division at Market Strategies Inc., a top 20 international research
firm in Livonia, Michigan.
After deciding to move to Hawaii, Chang quickly developed a deep love
for surfing and other ocean activities. She has also begun training in
Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing, but is quick to point out
that MMA and UFC are not her goals.
“I just think they are fun and challenging physical activities,” she
said, adding, “I can beat up and choke out an average person!”
